When did you have your first Ale-8?
I first tasted Ale-8 in 2012, on my first day at the Red River Gorge. I think I might have drank a whole six-pack just that night!
What is your favorite activity to do outdoors?
Bouldering is currently my favorite thing to do. A big part of why I love climbing is the social aspect of it, and I feel bouldering groups are always so fun and synergistic.
What is something you are passionate about?
I’ve always been passionate about sharing climbing with others. Climbing literally changed the course of my life, and for all of the right reasons. I love being able to introduce the sport to people and to see some of those radical changes happen for others.
What is a long term goal you are working towards?
I would love to become a professional route setting instructor. I’ve been a routesetter for almost a decade now, and throughout that whole time there were no real opportunities for me to educate myself other than my job, so I want to be that person for the future generation.
What is an accomplishment you are proud of?
I’m pretty proud of all of my climbing rap music! It’s been a fun way for me to express myself and all of the experiences climbing rewards me with.
Other than Ale-8, what is one thing you can’t live without?
Creativity. I HAVE to be able to create – be it through writing, art, music, drawing, cooking, or anything like those.
